Spring Fever for treats

I am excited to be kicking off March with two new orders under my belt. The first are cupcakes for a mermaid pool party. She is a vanilla, vanilla cake and frosting girl, but not when it comes to decorations.
Second I have a two-tiered "1" birthday cake for a special boy that I had the honor of doing his baby shower cake. Hope this one impresses too. Can't wait to get to work and share photos of these special creations with you all!

i wanted to share some of my favorite past creations. I love working with ALL the different cake decorating mediums that are out there now, from fondant, to sugar sheets, frosting flowers and gum paste, i love them ALL and my brain is always thinking of new and creative ideas. I know which ones are my favorites, which ones are yours?
Carmen's Catering is Open For Business
I am so excited to be working on another Wedding cake! 
All thanks to my friend Terry and his referral from catering his and my book cluber friend Danielle's wedding. That was a yummy wedding, the menu was 

  • Garden fresh salad with home-made Buttermilk dressing
  • Pulled pork sandwiches on freshly made rolls ( best recipe ever from my good friend Elsa)
  • Topped with BarBQ sauce made from scratch
  • Loaded baked potato bar 
  • Home-made ooey, gooey mac'n'cheese
  • Fresh watermelon slices
 It was the perfect menu for a wedding in a red barn ( at Heise, Idaho). They cut their wedding pies that were made with love by family and they were topped and served with freshly whipped cream ( sorry I refuse to serve cool whip!)

Well right now I am working on a Three Tiered Red Velvet Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting
